Aboard the USS Pinafore, Farnham audiences will boldly go where no man has gone before … to outer space. Captain Corcoran’s ship has been fitted with photon torpedoes and his crew have their phasers set to stun.
The ship will seek out new life and new civilisations, equipped with all Sullivan’s music and most of Gilbert’s words, but in a brand-new version that is guaranteed to beam you up, far from earth. “It’s live theatre, Captain, but not as we know it …”
Fresh from its near sell-out runs of Sister Act and Titanic, FAOS returns to the Maltings with its reputation for fabulous singing and inspired staging. The directorial team is Heather Legat and Diana Vivian, who piloted the very successful FAOS productions of The Pirates of Penzance and Titanic the Musical. Expect classic G&S music and humour with an extra-terrestrial dimension!
Suitable for age 6 years and up.
UPDATE CONCERNING COVID-19:
The committee is keeping the situation under review. As I'm sure you understand, it is looking unlikely that we will be able to perform HMS Pinafore in June as we planned but we are currently reviewing options that could be achieved if the Farnham Matings are open by then. We will keep you informed.
In the meantime, the FAOS family got fed up of missing each other and not being able to sing together, so we have been keeping our vocals warm and getting into the Gilbert & Sullivan spirit with a virtual sing-along! You can watch the result here, as we perform a favourite from Pirates of Penzance as a warm up to our forthcoming fundraiser for the Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice. Watch this space!
